About The Course

This course builds practical data management and analysis skills using Stata and related statistical packages. Learners work through real-world datasets and scenarios while covering data handling, transformation, visualization, statistical analysis, estimation, regression, and specialized analytical techniques.

The module is offered through a mix of theory and practical using real-world datasets and scenarios. Modules on offer are irrespective of package are;

  • Package basics including windows and tools
  • Elements of programming including scripts, loops, and macros
  • Handling data files including loading data, labeling variables and values, dropping or keeping data and variables, and combining data sets
  • Data transformation including generating new variables and functions
  • Graphs
  • Elementary data analysis including exploratory data analysis, frequency tables, correlation, and non-parametric tests
  • Estimation including confidence intervals and basic estimation commands
  • Simple and multiple regression models including linear regression and logistic regression
  • Analysis of time-to-event data
  • Analysis of spatial data
